NORTH WEST PERSIA, CIRCA 1890

The shaded brick-red field with overall elongated angular ivory tendrils issuing small flowerheads overlaid by angular thicker ivory tendrils linked by palmettes, further overlaid in the centre of each side by indigo attenuated arabesques linked by rosettes, in an indigo border of turtle-palmettes and flowering vine between mustard-yellow floral meander stripes, light even wear, each end with partially restored guard stripe.
