A HERIZ RUG
NORTH WEST PERSIA, CIRCA 1890

The shaded plain camel waisted hexagonal field with a light blue indented lozenge panel within a red flowerhead band enclosing a smaller lozenge panel with radiating palmettes and central rosette, on a shaded soft sage-green ground scattered with flowerheads and palmette sprays, in a shaded ice-blue border of interlaced angular arabesques between rust-red floral meander stripes, corroded black, slight restoration at each end and to sides.
