WEST PERSIA, ClRCA 1900

The ivory field with an overall design of cusped quatrefoil panels containing palmettes and issuing serrated leaves flanked by vertical tendrils issuing further palmette and leaf-motifs, in an indigo narrow border of turtle-palmettes and flowering vine between golden yellow and shaded light blue floral meander stripes, plain broad outer ivory stripe with outermost skittle-pattern strip, braided kilim strip at one end, slight areas of localised wear, selvages rebound.
