How to Order

This and our several other Neat, Old Stuff lists are eclectic mixes of paper and other ephemera. They are presented here in somewhat of a jumble but, eventually, they will be subdivided and sorted by type. To all prices add more for shipping and handling from New Hampshire. Interest in any of these items may be expressed by e-mail. Our name, address and phone numbers are at the bottom of the list. Steamship Company booklet, 1911

14/1. Richelieu and Ontario Steamship Company promotional booklet for the Manor Richelieu and Tadousac Hotel, 1911. The R&O Company served the Lower St. Lawrence and the Saguenay with hotels and steamboats to access and connect them. 16 pp plus attractive covers, filled with photos and interesting text, plus a steamship schedule, "for the 1911 tourist season," 4 1/2x8. - $35



Coded Game/book, 1846

14/2. Sibylline Verses or the Mirror of Fate, by Miss H. J. Woodman, publ. by A. Tompkins, Boston, 1846. 4x6 1/4, 216 pp plus covers, hard bound, gold leaf embossing and page edges. Parlor/fortune telling game. This is a book of verses which may bode good or ill. There is a table of verse numbers, "Choose any number from 1 to 103 -- the opposite even number will be the Lady's fortune -- the odd number the Gentleman's." Lovely hand-tinted title page. Excellent condition. $60



Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries Booklet, 1968

14/3. Colorful booklet, 1968, promoting Forest Lawn, the incredible cemetary complex located in the LA area. We are told of the "Little Church of the Flowers," "God's Garden," the Statuary, the "Memorial Court of Honor, 'Last Supper' Window," "The Ascension Mosaic," "'The 'Birth of Liberty' Mosaic," and so on. 6x9, 24 pp plus covers, excellent condition. - $28

Early Maritime Document, Salem, MA, 1844

14/6 Disbursements of the ship "Farrthe, 1st voy.(age) to N.(ew) S.(outh) Wales. April, 1844. This the settling of accounts for the ship's voyage from Salem, Mass. to Australia. Income was derived from several passengers, a cargo of Camphor (on which duty was paid), and 2150 boxes or 19,900 lbs of gunpowder and Imperial tea, among other items, 7 7/8x9 3/4. Grand Hotel Item, Hygeia Hotel, Old Point Comfort, Virginia Booklet, 1900

14-7 Hygeia Hotel, Old Point Comfort, Virginia, promotional booklet, c. 1900, 4x7 1/2, 12 pp plus covers and comes with its original mailing envelope, which carries a large hotel logo. The Hygeia was located adjacent to the Fortress Monroe Military Reservation (the fort appears behind the hotel in the graphic), and near the large Naval base at Hampton Roads. The booklet contains many illustrations and interesting text. - $40

14-8 An invitation for a lunch given for French and British government officials by the France-America Committee at the Hotel Knickerbocker, NYC, October 1, 1915, with menu, 5"x7 1/2", four pages, with beautifully embossed cover with the three Allied flags in color.
