How to Order

This and our several other Neat, Old Stuff lists are eclectic mixes of paper and other ephemera. They are presented here in somewhat of a jumble but, eventually, they will be subdivided and sorted by type. To all prices add more for shipping and handling from New Hampshire. Interest in any of these items may be expressed by e-mail. Our name, address and phone numbers are at the bottom of the list. 16/3. Note on marine Insurance Co. letterhead, 1882, Alabama Claims related, lovely vignette of wrecked ship that didn't do well through the graphic scan. - $18

16/4. Hotel Genesta, Augusta Georgia, Christmas Menu, 1906. Roast Beef, Turkey Leg of Lamb and lots more for 75 cents. Plus a little homily: "Serenely full, the epicure would say, Fate can not harm me, I have dined today." Lovely engraved vignette. This would be in excellent condition less its 1/2" tear near the bottom. Still a lovely piece. $28

Clock Collectible, Waterbury, 1887

16/6. Clock collectible. Booklet, 1887, "Round and Round, the Wheels Go Round, When the Waterbury is well Wound," Lovely color illustrations of children interacting with various Waterbury clocks and watches. 3 1/2" x 31/2," 8 pages. Name of Brighten, Michigan retailer imprinted on back. Small stain on back.

Maritime Document, Ship Roma, 1843

16/7. This is the account of the Ship Roma's Voyage to India. The cargo included "9 cases Opium...1969 1/2 lbs. Opium." The ship was registered in Salem, Mass., but we can surmise that she picked up the opium in one of the British colonies and that it was to be transshipped from India to China where it would play its part in England's deadly Opium Wars with China, 8"x9 3/4", file folds, otherwise excellent condition. The graphic is a detail showing about 2/3s of the front of the document. The discoloration is incidental to the scan and does not appear on the document which is clean and crisp.

Maritime and Antique Gun document, Colt, 1853

16/10. Invoice of the Ship Sooloo, which carried a cargo of cased Colt Navy and other revolvers, from Salem, Mass. to Hobarts Town (Van Daiman's Land - Austrailia). The shipment included mahogany cases, shot flasks, caps, etc.. This is a four page document, page 1. Invoice, page 2. blank, page 3. letter, dated March, 2, 1853, about voyage and cargo with instructions to Captain of the ship. page 4. blank. As with our other maritime document, there is dis-coloration due to the scan which does not appear on the document itself.
